:: Our Weekend at The Crooked River Lodge ::

We stayed at Stafford's Crooked River Lodge this past weekend with the boys, and it was a perfect, much needed getaway. We haven't been on a trip since before Henry was born. We attempted a weekend getaway last year when Henry was about six weeks old, but it was just too much for me so newly postpartum. So, needless to say, it's been awhile and a weekend away was much needed for us.

We typically rent Airbnb's when we travel, but we decided that a hotel might be more fun and feel more "vacation-like" for the boys, so we decided to see what was in the area. After a quick search, we came across the Crooked River Lodge and decided that it looked perfect... and let me tell you- it WAS perfect! It was so family friendly- I can't recommend it enough.

​Some Highlights: 

The Pool was great. It was kept at the perfect temp, and the waterfall was a BIG hit with the boys!

​Artesian spring water, iced tea, locally roasted coffee and fresh popcorn were all available around the clock in the beautiful lobby.

​The kids playhouse in the lobby was great, and the boys made themselves right at home! It really solidified for us the fact that the hotel was family-friendly, and made us feel really comfortable. 

​The giant fire pit on the back porch was a really relaxing place to sit with coffee and enjoy the scenic lake views. 

​The kayaks that were available for use were a great perk, and they're included with your room. The boys were a bit too young for us to take advantage of that, but we definitely will in the future! 

The staff was SO friendly and accommodating. Whether we needed a dinner recommendation or some pool towels, they were able to help us with whatever we needed, and they were happy to do it.

The location was perfect for us. It's located about 10 minutes away from Petoskey and Harbor Springs, which are both favorite spots for us.

​All in all, the trip was really fun and relaxing, and I can't recommend the Crooked River Lodge enough! We definitely plan on going back, and may even make it an annual thing.
